Cruising the 55 nautical miles separating Port Hercule in Monaco from the Gulf of Saint-Tropez offers one of the most quintessential maritime journeys in the world. This curated 3-day passage captures the dramatic contrast between Monegasque grandeur and the wild red porphyry cliffs of the Massif de l'Estérel.

Day 1: Departure Monaco to Mala Bay & Cap Ferrat (7 NM)

Leaving the Port Hercule outer breakwater, set a westerly course along the dramatic cliffs of Cap d'Ail. Drop anchor in Plage Mala (Depth: 8-12m over sand). Be mindful of the strictly marked Posidonia Oceanica conservation buoys enforced by the French Maritime Prefecture (Préfet Maritime de la Méditerranée Decree 123/2019).

In the late afternoon, cruise around the iconic Cap Ferrat lighthouse into the protected natural harbor of Villefranche-sur-Mer. Enjoy an overnight drop-anchor under the citadel walls with smooth waters sheltered from easterly swells.

Day 2: Iles de Lérins & The Red Rocks of the Estérel (22 NM)

Weigh anchor at sunrise and transit past the Cap d'Antibes towards the historic Îles de Lérins (Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat). Moor in the shallow turquoise channel between the islands for lunch. Note: Anchoring directly on seagrass is prohibited for vessels >24m LOA; utilize the authorized mooring ball field.

During late afternoon, motor along the striking volcanic coast of the Estérel. The secluded calanques of Anthéor and Le Trayas offer secluded sunset swimming stops before taking a reserved overnight berth in Cannes Port Canto.

Day 3: Pampelonne Beach & Port de Saint-Tropez (26 NM)

Conclude the voyage by rounding the dramatic Cap Camarat into Pampelonne Bay. Drop anchor in 6 meters of clear sand off Club 55. Use the yacht tender for beach club transfers before making final evening entry into the historic Port de Saint-Tropez on Quai Suffren.
